The INKEY List | B Corp new AI platform, Breakout Analyzer Pro, has been designed as a bridge between expensive dermatologist access and the saturated skincare market, while FACE by Galderma uses AI across its aesthetics treatments to show patients the results of cosmetics injectables through AI facial assessments, with 91% returning to their practitioner as a result. 💡 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 💡 AI-powered R&D is leading to breakthroughs from companies like 10Beauty who have created an at-home autonomous robot that delivers a salon-quality manicure without human intervention, while SULA LABS develops and tests skincare products and ingredients for brands catering to ‘melanin-rich consumers’, in order to better service customers and support Black-owned brands. 🌿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗘𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 🌿 From ingredient optimisation to made-to-order foundations from the likes of DCYPHER, AI is helping reduce waste while enhancing production speed. Good Face Project centres AI across its formulation, regulatory compliance and innovation software to help its portfolio of brands, retailers and contract manufacturers, “shrink down the product development cycle, but at the same time, make it less prone to mistakes and regulatory risk”, CEO Iva Yovchev Teixeira shared with me. 👩🏽💻 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 👩🏽💻Generative AI is expanding representation with tools that tailor beauty solutions for diverse skin tones, hair types and accessibility needs. Particularly with the fast-growing fashion and beauty industry today, the intersection of art, creativity and technology is more prominent than ever. Artificial intelligence has become a transformative force in many fields and has also made its mark in the beauty sector. The trend of applying AI in the cosmetics industry is becoming more and more popular. Global brands such as L'Oreál S.A. and LVMH's Sephora are also leveraging AI to develop products that meet the personalized needs of customers. For example, a robot integrated with AI technology has just launched in South Korea.At the latest AI-applied beauty lab of AmorePacific, the Korean cosmetics giant, customers can experience a unique service: a robot that blends foundation on demand and advanced technology that recommends the most suitable lipstick color. This robot has the ability to analyze the face, skin color, pigmentation, then the algorithms will calculate the results, for a face, which lipstick color will be the most suitable lipstick color. The interesting point is with AmorePacific, the company uses AI to recommend 205 different foundations or 366 different lipstick colors, making it easy for customers to choose the most suitable product.-> The key here is that the skin pigment dataset used by the robot is collected by the company itself in its 78-year history of operating and serving customers.According to analytics firm Business Research Company predicts that the market for AI applications in the beauty and cosmetics industry will more than double from $3.27 billion in 2023 to $8.1 billion by 2028 thanks to the growth of services such as on-demand beauty, skin analysis and diagnostics, and makeup. Meanwhile, digital beauty is also a transformative trend that is reshaping the cosmetics industry, blurring the line between the real and virtual worlds.
