  I don't know if this movie is canon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it's an interesting Iron Man prequel anyway.

  Rich kids, parties, drugs, debts and addiction in LA. Lots of bright popping colors, hedonistic events and a various banging soundtrack, although some rock music was a bit misplaced at times, it all was quite atmospheric.

  It’s sad to see people who have so much options still end up in terrible situations.Downey isn’t my favorite actor but here he portrayed that ‘rich junkie’ excellent. The ending is beautiful and depressing at the same time. Overall a colorful 80s drama that has good pacing and a solid drug drama, something I like.

  Look at how they massacred my boy. I have definitive favorites when it comes to movies. Something where my favorites are a little more loose though is when we get into the realm of other art forms.   I've never actually read any of Bret Easton Ellis's novels (I intend to), but I sure am a fan of the films that are based on his work. AMERICAN PSYCHO, THE RULES OF ATTRACTION and LESS THAN ZERO are all weirdly compelling stories about the lives of the wealthy, white, and vacant, most of them made with the perfectly ironic backdrop of the sparkly, shallow 1980s, amid a jungle of neon-lit nightclubs and cocaine-smeared mirrors. Even though most of the characters are always junkies, preppies, hustlers, and even murderers, all three films are unexpectedly emotionally involving, none more so than this one.

  Disclaimers: I've never read the book that served as the source material. I've also never done cocaine, for multiple reasons. [(1) I don't like the idea of things going up my nose.
